Airports are trying to develop a way to use biometric devices to detect possible terrorists. Pros involve shorter lines, no racial profiling, makes the point that a small group who know kung-fu could hijack a plane-no weapons at all. these machines looks for signs of stress/aggravation and color-map it...hence the term 'brain-fingerpainting'.
As an artist, this is intriguing. I wanna burn out the machine first!"his head is plaid sir. is plaid a threat?"
But human, please! lets count the problems. first: looking for stressed or aggravated travelers is like shooting plane-weary, musty-assed fish in a crowded barrel full of recirculated air and surcharges. Also, i'm all for technological advances, but we all get lazy in the upkeep. Every morning i watch the automatic door at supertarget open and close unprovoked on a loop, like an 8-bit challenge, while i'm waiting for my wife to return with coffee. We all see that cashier that tries to scan the icy barcode on our box of hotpockets eleventeen times instead of looking at the price printed next to it.
if you think i'm wrong, your microwave must have a very accurate 'popcorn setting' button ![]()
